ACHIEVEMENTS
The department conducts workshops and invited talks on a regular basis to motivate the students and give awareness about the current technological developments. The department organised a workshop on UPS assembling and servicing for final year students. A hands-on housewiring practice was given to first year students to create awareness about domestic wiring system and safety practices to be adopted. As a part of technology transfer policy, the department in association with IEDC conducted a two-week long skill training program for VHSE students.
For the past years, the department is showing a remarkable scaling graph in end semester examinations. Forth semester students bagged the first position among 42 polytechnic colleges in Kerala. Out of 42 colleges, second semester and sixth semester students could secure tenth and fifth position respectively.
Mr. Arun C. A., H.O.D, received the ISTE national award for best polytechnic teacher for the year 2017. Mrs. Ajitha S, Lecturer in Electronics, won the ISTE national award for best polytechnic teacher in 2019. Mr. Jayachandran T, State coordinator, SAGY (SansadAdarsh Gram Yojana) received national award for his exemplary work in thevillages adopted under the scheme.
